Terms & Conditions & Policy Data
YOUR PET'S HEALTH AND WELFARE. Whilst your pet is in my care its health and welfare are my primary concern. It will only ever be groomed according to his or hers tolerance of the process. If your pet is fearful of any of the procedures employed during grooming, a workaround or alternative will be employed. Occasionally during grooming a pre-existing condition may be discovered which you may not have been aware of. I will notify you of this so that you can seek veterinary advice. Although extremely unlikely, accidents can happen during grooming. In the event of an accident or serious medical issue arising during your pet's groom you authorize me to seek emergency veterinary treatment.

Its is advise with the information this is not a guarantee that we will groom the dog. We can not be held responsible for any charges by your vet for proof as a small business we need to protect ourselves. The welfare of your dog is more important than vanity and money. I always put your dogs safety first. If I feel it is not safe I will refuse. We will use our own judgement as to what is ok and what we can and can't accept. Due to insurance purposes unfortunately we have to follow their terms.
NEGLECTED & MATTED COATS. In the event that your pet's coat needs to be clipped down to release it from matting or coat neglect, the Top Dog Groomers, its owner and operator are not liable for any post-grooming effects of this procedure, which is not without risk.
Any humane de-matting will be undertaken solely at my discretion, in compliance with The Animal Welfare Act 2006 (clause 5 - Animals are to be protected from pain, injury and suffering). De-matting during a routine groom is limited to a maximum of 15 minutes and is only possible if the matting is minimal. For severely matted coats where de-matting isn't possible, the only humane way to deal with this will be to completely shave off the coat.
You must inform me prior to grooming if your dog has ever bitten or displayed aggression. Failure to disclose this information may result in refusal of further services.
Emmi Pet Teeth Cleaning:
By booking an Emmi pet Teeth appointment, I understand that:
-
The Emmi pet service is not a substitute for veterinary medical care or diagnosis
-
Progress will depend on the dogs current dental health, previous dental cleaning and their behaviour.
-
The process being carried out is using an ultrasonic toothbrush which has no movement or noise. Additional tools may be used if necessary to aid the process.
-
There may be a small amount of blood from the gum line during and for a short time after the process where tartar/plaque has been lifted away from the tooth. This is completely normal.
-
The groomer will stop the cleaning session if any of the following issues become apparent and I will seek veterinary attention if required.
-
Loose or damaged teeth are found
-
Abnormalities are found such as, but not limited to, tumours, ulcers, abscesses, oral warts, foreign bodies, injuries.
-
The dogs behaviour shows aggression or excessive stress.
-
I am not aware of any reason why the Emmipet Teeth service should not go ahead.
-
Should the service have to be stopped then I will still pay the full fee.
EMMI-PET ULTRASONIC TEETH CLEANING
This method of dental cleaning is highly effective in removing mild tartar, improving gums, breath odour and overall oral health, Top Dog Groomers cannot guarantee the results, effectiveness, or suitability for individual pets due to varying external factors. If dogs become distressed or we discover anything likely to cause discomfort to your pet, we will discontinue immediately and inform you. The best approach to solve this will then be discussed with you.
Each pet will have its own tooth brush head that will not be used on another dog. This is purchased at the initial treatment and will be replaced after 10 treatments or sooner if required. Some pets may chew the brush head, if this is excessive it may need replacing sooner to maintain effectiveness. Brush heads will require replacing after 1 year regardless of number of times they have been used.
If we feel any teeth are loose or at risk of becoming loose when the tartar comes off we may request you get your pets’ teeth checked at your veterinarian before treatment. It is possible that the tartar build up will be too great and then a veterinary dental may be necessary initially and then follow up ultrasonic maintenance visits with us.
We cannot be held responsible for any problems occurring from poor dentition before, during or after any ultrasonic treatments.
At Top Dog Groomers ultrasonic treatment is not a veterinary procedure and we cannot diagnose any problems with your dogs mouth. Please have any advisories checked by your veterinarian.
The effectiveness of the ultrasound teeth cleaning is based on frequency and that optimum oral health might only be achieved by keeping to the frequency recommended by Top dog groomers.
